Change global variable from VD

Hello,
can anyone please help me?
I would like to change the global variable and icon using VD. And based on the global variable setting, the relevant scene will be triggered or not.
Can anyone give some example?

Hint download and install sample pump control VD, the global change calls you are after are demonstrated in there.
