Cannot connect to HC2 in recovery mode

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi all,

I seem not to be able to connect to my HC2 when it is in recovery mode.

Anyone an idea what the problem can be?

Kind regards,

Dennis

    Thanks,

im trying it right now, but when trying to enter recovery mode, (holding + and power on) all leds go on but the most left, the wrench sign just keeps blinking... on movies i found online this usually take 30 seconds and then the hc2 boots.

Mine is already blinking for 10 minutes.....

If I understand you correctly, does your HC2 boot at a normal start, but it does not boot in Recovery mode?

Have you tried to boot in Recovery mode without a mounted Recovery Stick?
You can put it back again after it has started.

    Correct, it booted normally.

I am now trying to enter recovery with the recovery USB removed...

Does not seem to make a difference, still blinking away..

How long should it take at most?

EDIT: normal booting is also not working anymore, same blinking wrench symbol..

Thats bad! Put the Recovery stick back again and reboot.

Sometimes it can take hours to boot, so leave the box over night and see.

    Thnx!

Normal booting does work when I remove the recovery stick..

Now I will leave it in recovery and hopefully it will boot into recovery later tonight...

    Keep you updated..

okay, I got the HC so far that it will show the power LED, and the + LED, rest are off (so it should be in recovery mode).

The HC2 is connected to my laptop via UTP cable, but I cannot enter the device via its IP address (also Fibaro Finder doesnt find it).

Ive tried holding the + button until web+LAN LEDS flash and go off, this should put the HC's IP back to default 192.168.81.1

Ive put my internet setting on my laptop to the same subnet, and an IP sniffer 'sees' the HC is connected, but I am not able to connect to it's IP address via a browser..

    Any ideas?

So, I got a little bit further.

Instead of placing my HC2 directly to my laptop, I plugged it into my modem, and now it shows the +, internet, LAN and power LED (this should be recovery mode)

I do see the HC2 in my DHCP list on my modem, but I cannot connect to the IP address assigned to the HC2, also the Fibaro Finder dus not find the Home center..

    Anyone?

I think is has something to do with my DHCP set up at home...
My HC is now set up to get an IP via DHCP..

Whan I place the HC2 into recovery mode (to perform a factory reset), it shows the LED's that should be lit (+, web, LAN and Power).

Although It is connected to my LAN, I cannot acces it when it is in recovery mode..

    Hi.

    I had the same problem.....

I´ve tested everything and nothing worked.

Different cables, fibaro finder, static ip and nothing worked. I did suspected my dhcp server and tested an old router and tested dhcp with the adresses 192.168.81.0-100 but It didnt help.

I´ve tested static ip on my computer whith a switch between pc/fibaro but no...

Then I connected a monitor to my fibaro and figured out that my fibaro uses static ip with the ip adress 192.168.101.120. So I used a switch and my pc with static ip and it worked....

Why on HELL did my fibaro use 192.168.101.120 ?????? And not 192.168.81.1 ??

Sorry for my bad english....Hope you understand and hopefully this helps other people...

    Hi Guys,

I suddenly have the same problem as mentioned over here. I not even updated my HC2... tried everything to get into the system to run a factory reset. Fibaro finder does sometimes see the HC2 but can't acces it. What can I do to fix it? When FF finds the HC2 it detects IP: 192.168.81.1 only no connection...

First of all, sorry for the late response.

I think it would be best if you contacted our support as this might suggest at the need of replacing your HC.
