Motion Sensors - two versions, how do they report?

Question

Posted

I have used the motion sensor 1 for a number of years and been very pleased.

I just purchased two of the version 2 sensors (with seismic sensor) and the motion sensor appears to be very temperamental. I can watch the LED light up and yet it doesn't notify Homeseer. I have also had occasions where it is triggered and doesn't reset. At the moment i have sensitivity set to 8 and cancel motion to 30 seconds. Is this issue addressed either by a firmware update or a revision to settings?

Hi @theendisnye!

All versions of Motion Sensor have the "seismic sensor". Actually, we don't call it versions.

At first, Motion Sensors were equipped with Z-Wave 3 chip and newer are Z-Wave 5. That's the main difference.

This should had no effect on the issues you're experiencing. Actually, you should have less problems : )

Therefore, maybe your Motion Sensor is on the edge of the Home Center range?
