Fibaro Relay switch 2 * 1.5kw controlling 12V devices

abpostelnicu

Question

Hello All,

I have a question and I would really appreciate your help, I have  bought this relay from Fibaro FGS-222, and i plan to control a siren that has a 12V input for the siren to start and ring and a 12V output for the tamper switch that i triggered by the siren when it detects tempering.

My worries are as follows:

  1. Does the output of the relay Q1/Q2 support 12V or 24V?
  2. Can the relay be powered on 12V since i would love to put it inside the siren and connect it to the siren battery?
  3. Should i connect the input of the siren and the output to the Q1 and Q2 or do i have to connect to S1 and S2?

Many thanks!

so, I have a heater (Kospel S.A. Poland)

I want to turn off heater when temperature in room > 25

wiring:

1) powering FIBEFGS-222 (FIB_FGS-221) via 200V to [L] & [N]

2) wiring Kospel heater [NA] contacts (dry contact) with [IN] and [Q1]

3) adding additional manual control - connect wall switcher to [IN] again and [S1]

so, now you can control heater via z-wave or manually turn on/off heater vial local switcher.  any question?

I find following accessories very neat if applicable:

Used one for the heating system on/off (fgs-223). Build in S1 push button can be used to turn on/off heating manually, very handy.

IMHO you looking relay with dry contact

FIBARO Relay Switch 2x1,5 kW — FIBEFGS-222 (FIB_FGS-221)

Please login or register to see this link.

>>>Does the output of the relay Q1/Q2 support 12V or 24V?

yes!

>> an the relay be powered on 12V since i would love to put it inside the siren and connect it to the siren battery?

separated!  220V for powering device and IN - input terminal for load (your) power supply (3v3 .. 220 DC or AC)

>>Should i connect the input of the siren and the output to the Q1 and Q2 or do i have to connect to S1 and S2?

S1 / S2 for manual overrides for example, if you feeling sad and lonely you can listen to the sound of a siren by pressing key connected to S1 or S2 :)

I don't think a simple switch works in this particular case.

Can’t this be done with the Fibaro binary switch?

    1) You can't drive  Fibaro binary switch manually! Note, please!

    2) Fibaro binary switch also expect "dry contact" on [IN]

example. I have very cool RING doorbell (http://ring.com). It very cool doorbell but developers don't care about end-users and end-developers as well :)

So this device can pass power to old mechanical (or electronic) bell.

[RING DOORBEL] ===> [simple relay] => [Fibaro binary switch] => [HC]
