Aeon Labs G2 Home Energy Meter 2nd edition.

 

The Correct kWh usage is 173,48

 

The reading on my HC2 front page is way off, shows 516 kWh more than double the actual usage.

But when I look in the Energy panel the numbers match up with the power company power meter.

Why is this, any ideas?

516 kWh is what you use since you add HEM in the sistem. That value will always increase. Every first day of month the inside values will be reset, but that value not, like you probably saw in febrary.

 

After I update device with USB stick, that @10der talk about, Aeon told me this: 

“It is definitely possible for the phases to be out of sync with the total reports. If you want to keep them all in sync with eachother, i would suggest these settings to have all sensors report at the same time:

 

Parameter 101 [4d] = 4144911 //report all sensors

Parameter 111 [4d] = 600 //report all sensors every 10 minutes (set in seconds).”

 

I made that chages but parameter 111 I put 120 seconds, and now I'm happy with HEM.

I am not exactly sure what your question is, but I try to do my best with explanation.

 

First picture - the highlight value is total energy consumption of all phases probably since you include the device into Fibaro Home Center 2.  This value can be reset in Advanced Tab of Aeon Labs HEM G2 in Fibaro system.

Second picture - the highlight value is total energy consumption during the last month.

 

So after you will reset the energy consumption measurements in advanced tab, you should see 0 value where you just see 516,96 kWh.

 

Hope you understand what I was trying to explain.

 

But if I am wrong, please let me know.

The HEM was reset on 2. januar and everything was 0, now 12 days later it shows 516,96 on the front page of HC2 but the actual correct usage is 173,48 wich also is shown in the Energy Panel.

thinking out loud... sometimes Aeot like to change internal parameters for devices. And sometime  values type for example was 1 byte after update double byte = word

so, first what I can recommend - check last doc from aeot site and update firmware ... last is big pain ... u can’t update device without aeot hardware devices for example USB stick
