Question

Posted

Hello I use a HCL and have now got a HC2 given.
How can I transfer the Data Module sensors from HCL to HC2?

It's not possible yet. You must exclude all your z-wave devices from your current HCL, then include them all to the new HC2. There's been numerous posts and discussion on this very issue...   Good luck!

    1. That's crazy for a "premium device" that should be possible! What does FIBARO say about that?

They will tell you the exact same thing. "It's not possible to transfer connected devices"

    there are 4 possibilities:

    - the official way, which should be one day available (Fibaro promised it once, and i hope they will make it possible once they released v5.xxx branch some day)

    - the tricky way, by adding HC2 as second controller, moving the role, renaming modules, creating scenes/VDs, removing HCL (but it dos not work always properly, i decided to not post the "how to" year ago, especially z-wave plus modules have issues to get moved properly as they always looking for wrong master controller ID in their association after move - sure one can exclude/include them again, but this way makes only sense when having lot of zwave and only some of zwave plus devices)

    - the easy but time consuming way, by excluding every module and including on HC2, creating all scenes and VDs (and this is actually not a real issue when having only let say 50 modules, and some scenes, a day of work and you are done).

    - the unofficial way, i found a migration path to move everything (except icons) without juggle with zwave roles etc., from HCL to HC2 (see

, but we charge for that of course, so it's only for people having lot of zwave plus devices.
