[SOLVED]Association between Water Sensor and Relay

Question

Posted

Hi,

I have water sensors setup in Bathrooms and a solenoid valve on my mains water with a Fibaro Relay on it, the aim is when the water sensor sets off it will turn off the relay and shut the water off (which will prevent overflowing baths etc)

The issue I'm having is that I only seem to be able to get the water sensor, when activated to turn "on" the relay, no matter what option I use in the Fibaro HC2 (I.E options in the relay, 30-31-32-33) are all set to turn the device off, however when water is detected it only wants to turn the relay on?

Any ideas on how I can get the water sensor to turn the relay off?

Thanks

Hi @markp ,

Could you please show me the scene that you are using to control this process?

Hi @A.Smolinski, it sounds to me as associations and not scenes. I run into it a year ago. Association seems to work as expected, because it turns on relay.

Hi @markp, use a scene. If water leak sensor is breached, then turn off relay. It should work.

It all would be easier with associations, but there is problem it send turn On instead turn Off.

Hi @jakub.jezek ,

You're right, I missed the headline and went straight into reproducing the problem. My bad!

A simple scene would do the trick! ;)

    Hi A.Smolinski & jakub.jezek

Thanks for the reply! yes I was trying to do this with associations, as I assumed this would be the most reliable way to set it up (I want to do the same with my Smoke detectors going off, I.E turning on lights and opening vents) I'll give it a go with the scene which I'm sure would work fine,  Just seems weird that that there is no way to do that with an association!

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hello @markp,

When water leak sensor breach then it sends Turn ON to actor, which most of times is not desireable. For inverted behavior you need scene.

I'm using scene created by @Sankotronic (link below), which sends you mail and Push notification. Also in case of water leak sensor i added code, which close valve for water (adjustment was for customer).

    Regards,

    Jakub
