[SOLVED]LED Surge

I seem to have a rather strange issue with my dimmer 2 / bypass setup. I have about 7 LED GU10 Bulbs, i have connected up the dimmer 2 module and placed a bypass on the light fitting but whenever i press the power the device detects a power surge. The lights will turn on and off via the module but whenever i use the physical switch i get surges.

 

Any ideas how to get around this? i wired up 7 other rooms fine and never had this issue but non of the other rooms use 7 LED bulbs.

Hi Al3x,

 

Assuming this is a 2-wire setup, a bypass is only needed if the load is too light.
7 parallel GU10 bulbs are most likely enough load, so just omit the bypass.

You MAY encounter a new problem then.
When LEDs are dimmed to off, they might still emit some light.

In that case you will have to revert to a 3-wire setup.

if i dont use the bypass i get a lot of disco lights and they will not turn off correctly.

After re-reading your initial post I realize we might not be on the same path.
Please post a picture/sketch how mains, dimmer, lightswitch and bulbs are wired.

Rewired the light circuit upstairs and removed a lot of the lazy work done previously. I had multiple live going into the box
