[Solved] LUA - need some help capturing part of a string

Question

Posted (edited)

Hey folks,

I have challenges capturing part of a string (i.e. via string.match and a regular expression). I have spent quite a few hours testing different regular expressions, but so far to no avail. It's probably a blind spot and so I thought, rather than spending more hours muddying on,  I'd come here to ask for some help as you may be more experienced fixing this?

My string is a URL:

The string value that I would need to capture is located in between /devices/ and /abilities/ (so the part that reads

) This is not a fixed length item.

It would be great if you could take a look at this and offer some advise!

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Barlow

Hi A. Thank you for coming to the rescue for me!

This works great. Two birds in one stone, as I can now assist a troubled user of one of my VD's that will benefit from this fix :-)

    Cheers,
