Thermostat drives only 2mm and then back?

Question

Posted

The following error occurs:

The thermostat moves only 2mm and then back. Clearing is not possible. In the HC2 comes as an error message (motor failure). Even after a reset of the FGT nothing changes on this error.

Is there a technical defect or is there still a possibility to fix this error?

Hi,

got the same issue - had to send TRV to Fibaro and got it repaired. Mail [email protected]

Best regards,

A little update to the error. After the device has been standing on the cabinet for one night, it works completely again. A calibration is possible and also the stroke is normal again.

Maybe someone from Fibaro can provide an explanation of what that mistake might be?

I had exactly the same experience.

One of my FGT's no longer did the whole stroke, and gave "Motor failure". I had tried several calibration attempts, standby mode, factory reset, nothing helped.

So I was ready to send it back for repair.

A few days later, I decided to give it another try, and, like with your valve, it magically repaired itself?!

The motor was doing the full stroke again, no more "motor failure" errors...

What causes the failure in the first place? No idea.

What causes the self-healing after a few days? No idea.

It would be good if Fibaro would shed some light on this. If we know how to deal with motor failures in a structured way (or it's a bug and it can get fixed), then it would avoid repair shipments to Poland and back.
