Question

Hi, happy fibaro users :)

From last year i have the Heat Controller but unboxed only last days to try it.

It looks very HiEnd in hands, but the temp regulation sphere moves like it got sand in it :) Not smooth and there is no tactile "marks" when to stop (the color light - yes)

Anyway, I can live with that - not a big deal.

After playing a little bit (not appied any radioator head yet) left it on a desk and went sleep. It was terrible night. The module makes terribe noise in the night silence. I was so lazy to get up and shut it off. so I wake up every hor or so because of this noise.

Is it normal? Is it same by your side too? I have 3 radiators in my room, i can obly imagine this msic in the night with 3 of this devices :)

Attaching the file for you.

I believe your device has tried (all the night) to calibrate itself

So it is  not mounted yet? It "calibrates" = it tries to find the in  & out points of your valve. If you do not mount it onto a valve, it will keep trying to calibrate. If you include it on a HC, I expect it to tell you "calibration failed". First thing to do now is update FW to 4.3... So I agree with what @adyboss posted.

To avoid that calibration thing while unmounted, have a look at "standby" in the manual. That is the way to store the valve.

That is totally normal for unmounted Heat Controller. I hear that noise when i have it in office for warranty check. It tries to calibrate like @petergebruers and @adyboss said.

What would i do:

  1. Include it into Fibaro HC.
  2. Mount it.
  3. Upgrade it to fw 4.3.
  4. Calibrate it with B-button (white color).

After mounting and calibration noice will be reduced.

    Thanks for a fast feedback!

It was included in HCL network and upgraded to 4.3 from the start.

But ok i will get one radiator head (not have such here) and mount it for the more clear test.

Other question: how to assign a temperature sensor to be used by the Heat Controller? (I have no BLE temp sensor) As far as i understand, any Z-Wave temp sensor in the network could be used with it.
