IMHO
HCL's can't work in Master-Slave scheme. at the least because you should have one HC2.

but it's my IMHO from the documentation.

Furthermore, Home Center Lite can work as a stand-alone Home Center (perfect for house or unit) or as a Slave (via linked gateways). HC Lite cannot work as a Master Home Center like Home Center 2 which is designed for this purpose.

primary / secondary are z-wave based terms, to combine more controllers in one mesh network - all with same home id.

Fibaro supports as well something else, one can use "remote gateways", which means each of them will have own home id (own z-wave),

but from UI point of view all devices from all gateways can be made visible (and can be used in e.g. scenes) on all gateways (but only when all gateways are HC2).

Having one HC2 and one HCL, one can add HCL as remote gateway and import all rooms and devices from HCL into HC2, but not vice versa as HCL itself does not support gateway connection.

as far as i know, every controller (master and slave) creates a seperate network with there own home id

master can not control device added to slave, master gives command to slave and slave will execute, same for slave to master.

Completely true!

I have a setup with 2 HC-2's.

what did you setup? one hc2 as zwave primary and another one hc2 as secondary zwave controller or are you talking about "gateway connection" of two HC2s?

primary and secondary controller is something else

that exactly what i said. Actually it is even different:

primary zwave - secondary zwave - same home id, but this is less interesting for TO, so let's talk about what better to manage:

HCL -> HC2 - HC2 is "master" and HCL "slave", both have own home id, but every device from HCL can be managed on HC2 as well

HC2 <-> HC2 - both have own home id, but both can be master at same time (and slave for the other HC2). Simply do gateway connection on both and you can manage in both direction, which is frakking cool somehow.

If in HC2 <> HC2 connection one node goes down, if this working one will take over controll of all devices ?

Nope, there's only one 'real' controller and if that one fails, all will go down.

And @tinman, I indeed was talking about a gateway connection between my Master & Slave HC-2's.

Hi guys,
my situation is as follows: I have 1 HC2 and 2 HCL, of which for now I have connected an HCL as master and an HCL as slave ... the second HCL instead there is no way to see it in the network despite being under the same network and it is working .... I still don't have any device installed in the HCL that I want to add as a gateway and if I also try to type the ip address in the new gateway aggregation window in HC2, however it doesn't see it. I attach screenshots to understand us better. There is also to say that I see an inscription in the window that tells me I want only an HC2 as a gateway ... is it possible that the HCL are putting them aside?
