Question

Hi All,

I have a ventilation unit with an RS232 interface from which I want to feed readings into my HC2. After long and unsuccessful attempts to use a RPi and a FTDI USBtoRS232 converter as interface  I have abandoned that path. Finally the culprit  appeared to be the FTDI converter.

Anyhow, I decided to buy a DTU-H100 IP to serial converter.

This works fine and with my Python program from the RPi I can retrieve the so needed readings from the ventilation unit.

The next challenge is to get rid of the PI.

Is it possible to create a VD that sends a HEX message to an IP number on a specific port and next receive a HEX message from that same IP number?

ofcourse I have to port the Python program to LUA but that seems to be  a minor issue.

And yes, I could connect my HC2 to the Pi and do some json stuff but that’s an extra, probably redundant device in the chain.

Thanks.
