  • Hi @jakub.jezek

Many thanks for your reply, I'm tempted to power mine with battery backup (as I'm in a situation that can) plus it will then add value as a z-wave repeater apparently - as per the manual

    Cheers

I'm using a 12v DC, 250ma power supply. Just got it.

when on external power, my unit makes a buzzing sound, low volume. But not when on battery. Maybe it's a power supply on the circuit board?

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi @CinBrandon ,

I have four Fibaro Flood sensors and on all of them battery last more than 2 years, so I never thought to use external power supply.

Where I am putting mine, it's easy enough to use external power, and this allows it to be a repeater as well for the Z-wave network.

    Hi @CinBrandon ,

Yes, to have it as a repeater is excellent reason to use external supply. During the years of having Fibaro I purchased lots of mains powered devices that are acting as repeaters so having also lots of battery operated devices is no problem for me.

BTW - what power supply did you get for flood sensor, brand, type?
