fgt001 update error

Hello,
i've bought a fibaro fgt001. in the notification center of my hc2 i can read that there is an update for my fgt001 available. if i try to start an update, i receive the message

Firmware update

To ensure optimum performance and improve functionality, update your device to the latest firmware version.

Status: fail - file size error. contact fibaro support.
Current version: 4.0
Available version: 4.3

My HC2 works with the newest firmware version 4.180.
Does anyone have an idea for me how to solve the problem?

Have you tried resetting your HT to factory settings?

The Fibaro support suggests to run the update with HCL close (less then 1 meter) to device. I did it but it still doesn't work! forget to do it. No serious advantage to upgrading it

Hello vmuscariello,
thank you for your answer. It seems that we are the only ones who have the problem.
Let's see if it works after the next HCL firmware update.

If it is any consolation, you are certainly not the only ones with that problem. I upgraded almost 20 FGT's from v4 to v4.3 and for at least 6 or 7, I had to make several attempts before the update succeeded. 

As mentioned, the FGT has to be REALLY close to the HC2; for me it worked best if they were about 30 cm from the controller.

Also, it may take a long time - between 30 minutes and an hour in some cases - and if there is a lot of Z-wave traffic in the mean time, it can mess up the upgrade. So try to avoid any other actions that cause Z-wave traffic.

And finally, don't give up. It may take two or three attempts before it succeeds, but in the end, I got all the FGT's upgraded.

I repeated the process several times as you has described. But my device can not be updated .-(

Hello,

yes i did. I have tried it with two different controllers. At first with a HCL and as second with a HC2. Both controllers were set to factorysettings, before i have tried to update the device. Both controllers are working with the newest firmware.

yes, the HT has already been reset several times to factory settings.
