Device to Switch 24V AC

Question

Posted

Hi All,

I am looking for a switch which is able to get 230V as power (I am fine with that) but is able to switch 24V AC.

As far as the specification of Fibaro goes, their switches handle DC only when it comes to lower line-in power. I lost two of the modules already. So, any experience for a switch in such an environment. It is about a valve which is operating on 24V AC

Thank you

Roger

Ah, it's starting to take shape.

So it's some type of fan coil.

But I'm confused, are you writing a second compressor?

Probably a mistake and you want to control a second valve.

As in another thread, I have to ask about the current load of the valve first. Even if you solve the DC power supply adjustment for SmartImplant, you will need to calculate the current for the contact. So definitely consider the need for a booster relay.

Search for "24VAC to 24VDC" modules on the Internet. You can get them with a load of up to 1A from eastern merchants for around 5USD.

If you were interested in electronics, it can be made for 1-2USD.

To summarize, I don't know about a 24VAC powered module on the Z-Wave protocol.

I can almost certainly say that the Smart Implant output will be destroyed.

Please see the original topic:

I emphasize again, it is necessary to measure the current drawn by the appliance, whether it is a valve, fan,...

There is an option to use FGS-214/224. This module can be powered from 24VDC. It has separate outputs from the power supply, so you can switch 24VAC.

Warning: The manufacturer states that the same voltage as the module is powered should be switched.

However, this is a safe voltage of 24V, so it would not matter from a safety point of view.
