Scenes slow to reactie to RGBW input

Question

Posted

Hi all.

We have a HC2 in our house to control as much as possible :). I have a few switches connected to RGBW controllers configured as input/output. When I associate one of the inputs in the HC2 to a Dimmer2, it works instantly (without any delay). However, there is quite a delay if I create a scene to react to the 'value' property of the input. It takes about 4 to 5 seconds, before the update of the RGBW controllers input is received by the HC2. That is quite long to turn on lights or anything :).

I see the same thing when I look at the web interface. I press a button, it takes four to five seconds of latency and I see the state change in the web interface. If I click the button in the web interface, the scene reacts immediately (so the scene configuration is correct). Does anyone has an idea on how to decrease this latency?

Some notes: the firmware of both the HC2 and the RGBW controller are up to date (no betas). The distance between the HC2 and the controller is a few meters. All other Zwave devices in my network have no delay with a scene responding (also not in the web interface). I already tried to decrease the maximum brightness and decreased all the times to the lowest values. I also disabled the double click feature, but nothings helps...

So, in short: click on button that connects to a RGBW controller input, wait 4-5 seconds, HC2 reacts (either scene or visually in the web interface).

Below some images of the configuration of the master device, all the inputs are setup the same.

Any idea what to do to decrease the reaction time? In the current state it is not really usable to control my entire house....

Thnx a lot in advance.

At the moment I have about 31 Z-wave devices in the network and a couple of Virtual Devices (a Onkyo receiver and some old Hue lights). There is no latency in any of the devices, apart from the RGBW input towards the HC2. Even the RGBW input is fast if I use association (unfortunately not possible in this situation). On all other devices (other then RGBW input) the HC2 responds without latency.

Yes scene slow to react to dimming. User would get confused easily.

Associations in RGB work ok  but dont give you dimming only on an off

It does not really matter if I try to dim or just press the button for on or off. It has the same latency. Dimming works fine if association is used with a Dimmer by the way :).

Really i must try again, if so why dont you use association?

In this case I need to do some HTTP calls to my Hue bridge in a Lua script, so association is of no help to me. The scene does start, but it takes 4-5 seconds before it does. I hope someone knows the trick to get the RGBW input to sync with the HC2 (almost) instantly, like all the other FIbaro components....

Hi Soporte! That did it, thank you very much. I really thought I had tried that setting before, but apparently not. Thanks a million!
