Question

Hi,

I want to build in a single switch outsite.

The place in under a roof so waterproof is not a requirement.

The switch operating temps are 0-=30 degrees celcius.

What happens if the envoironment of the switch goes below zero?

Shoud i then cut of power and its okay?

Wil it break and/or catch fire?

Is there an alternative zwave for switching below zerro?

It operates only in the temperature stated in the manual. We cannot guarantee it would work properly if used outside of this range.

    This one maybe:

It comes in nice installation box and is IP55. It has 2 versions: 16A and 25A. I have one for test purporse (25 Amp version) and i must say, it is very solid relay.

I think it already is in the market (maybe not yet). Check with Fibaro dealer in your area or Fibaro distributor in Netherland.

Yes, it is big. But i do not think, that it could be any smaller, since it has contacts, big 25A relay (mine version) and big 12V powersupply for internal parts.

If you have light connected directly to switchboard, then you could place Fibaro Switch there. If you know somebody with 3D printer, you could print holder for Fibaro Switch. See

Also i see you are from Nederland, so this shop could be helpfull to you in case of placing Fibaro to din rail:

I am all ready custumer of robbshop :)

The problem i have is a lamp outsite. It is an old house and it has not an centralbox design where i can put a nill whire to the wall switch inside. The P-wire (black) from switch to the lamp crosses one or more blind boxes into the sailing. I cant get by these boxes.

What i want to do is place a fibaro switch with the outside lamp and not use the inside switch annymore.

An other solution could be a screw-in module for out-side or a light bulb for outside.

(maybe i am asking something there is not yet : Hint!!!)

What about Dimmer 2? This one can be On/Off too and what you need is just L wire.
    2. And what about changing whole lamp? It is nice outdoor lamp and it is Z-Wave one. But not cheap one i'm afraid.

  • I have found a solution. It is a bit exspencive but it is a solution. I found that philips HUE lamp has an operating temprature between -10 and +40 °C. And i saw that HUE can connect with HC2. My solution is buy a start kit HUE and put one of the lamps outsite. Than i have three nice all collers lamps to decorate my house.
