Siren for Home Alarm system looking for

Hello everybody,

please, has anybody experiences with any Zwave siren for home alarm system compatible with FIBARO HC2?

 

I need:

• alarm sound high volume
• entrance sound middle volume
• exit sound middle volume
• open door chime low volume
• ring sound

 

FIBARO doesn't publish compatibility list, therefore I searched for siren, which is

• not only battery powered,
• has more sounds and volumes
• the sound can be controlled via commands (not only via parameters, because then I think the changes of sound is not immediately...)
• and is Zwave plus

 

I found ZIPATO indoor siren, and it is great, but even so I cannot command more sounds, because the ZIPATO siren uses for sounds control "The device supports using SWITCH_MULTILEVEL SET to play the
sound." But FIRARO cannot use SWITCH_MULTILEVEL SET, and I'm waiting for 4 months for adding this feature and template.

 

I will be grateful for any of your experiences.

I have one "ZW080, Aeon Labs - Siren (Gen 5)" with HC2.

 

Powered device + an internal battery

Different sounds

Can choose sound level

AES encryption

Zwave plus

 

Don't know without checking my device if levels can be set with commands or only parameters...

 

Now they are at generation 6, which I cannot speak for...

Hi,

thank you for answer.

I have AEON Siren Gen5 at home too, I tried to set sound type via restapi parameters, but status of response is 500 - internal error. Is possible to change device parameters via rest api?

I wrote to AEON support for documentation of Siren Gen6, it is not on Aeon support web .

No you cannot change device parameters via REST API.

This type of siren doesn't have any commands to change the sound or sound level either.

It could be possible to create LUA scene to change the parameter and then you can call the scene via REST API.

yes, that's my experience too. How is possible to change parameters via LUA scene? I cannot find it. REST API is the same situation as at VDs...

Do you have any other sirens, where is possible to change tone from Fibaro?

I didn't understand what do you mean by " REST API is the same situation as at VDs... ".

You can run scene via REST API. It's true that you need somehow to set the value of sound or to create few scenes with different sound setup.

Another idea is to create VD that has several buttons (different sound type), each button could call scene with different parameter of sound. REST API supports VD buttons execution.

I have Everspring siren as well, but same story - no command to change the sound.

I tried read all device object, then change parameter and save object, but result was error 0, but status 500 - internal server error, no parameter change, this dont work.

Hi,

thank you, now it works too. It must be only parameters updated, I updated whole template and it doesn't worked.

How often is possible change parameters at non battery device? Every time I see information at log about change parameters, but I don't know if it is wrong.

You can change the parameter often as you wish.

If you see at log that parameter changes and see that the change has been received, then you should be OK.

The best way to verify the change, just activate the siren and see if the sound has been changed.
