Setting/changing associations from LUA scene

Question

Posted

Hi all,

Is it correct that associations cannot be adapted from (lua) scenes? My thinking was that it would be more efficient to change an association than running scenes in some occasions.

(e.g. a motion sensor and a light that should only be associated at night time)

Thanks, J

Intriguing question! "more efficient" - in what way? Power? Cpu? Memory? Response time?

It is possible... but not "supported". I can point you to some example code if you really want that... Battery powered devices get their associations only when they wake up. What is your interval? I've only ran such code on mains powered devices...

Code example: download "

" from this post (and please read the topic to understand what it is used for...):

That indeed was my thinking (all of that). Plus less dependent on gateway (e.g. in alarm situations).

Good point.. making it useless for my use case :)

But thanks anyway! The code learned me some new things! :)

Is there an overview somewhere of these unsupported commands?

If you have the FGMS-001 you can set a parameter to disable motion reporting if light exceeds a certain value. I am not sure about other brands.

I do not think there is a list of "unsupported" stuff.... Sometimes users post these things...
