Double Switch 2

Hi, im using this as a power point for electrical devices.

 

I have a double power point where the Zwave switch is, and i have another double power point off the zwave device.

 

I have power to my first power point, it reads the usage and switches on off fine. The second power point is dead, no power.

 

Can anyone assist me in the wiring setup?

Didn't understand what exactly you're asking for... could you please post simple diagram what you did or need?

Sorry,  ill try and be a bit clearer. Here is a diagram.

 

Obviously the Switch 2 takes a Live/Neutral/Earth. I have the Switch 2 supply the first Power Point fine, however the second power point is dead. I realise I need two Switch 2 devices to control BOTH power points but the second is just a loop of the first.

 

Can you let me know the wiring should be configured? Each 240V outlet has 2 power points and two switches. I'm assuming I cant control both switches with FIbaro Switch as theres not seperate inputs into the back of the power point.

Two more question:

1.What Z wave switch you're using?

2. Could you draw where from comes the main 240V power to outlets? I believe it connected to one of the outlets...

 

Assuming that you use Fibaro double switch and main power connected to the left outlet, here the diagram

S1 and S2 usually connected to manual switch (in case you're switching the lights). It means you can turn on/off each switch (Q1/Q2) manually as well.

Since you're switching power outlets, you don't need it.

Ahhh. Thank you. I assume to contril the second power switch id need another fibaro if i wanted it to be seperately controlled right?

No, your switch is double, so you can control two power outlets (see per drawing).

You should have two different IDs for each switch (slaves). 

For example:
first switch ID = 127

Second switch ID =128

So, you can control the switches as follow:

1st switch     fibaro:call(127,"turnOn") or fibaro:call(127,"turnOff")

2nd switch     fibaro:call(128,"turnOn") or fibaro:call(128,"turnOff")

Ahhh. This is what id hoped for !  ill wire as per your diagram. Im using openhab2.

 

I have also the dimmer 2. Does that mean one dimmer can dim two different light circuits ?

Unfortunately it can control one light only.

But you can find other

(click on dimmers). This TKB dual dimmer and to my opinion it much easier for installation. The dimmer already in side the switch.

Hi cag014, so ive wired it as per your suggestion. The left power point works fine, I can turn it on and off. The right power point in your diagram fails. There's no power going to it. I assume its supplied by Q2.

 

I use openhab, and I can see it has a switch_binary1 (which controls the left power point - Q1) and a switch_binary2 (which controls the right power point - Q2)

 

I can only assume my Q2 is dead, because its not feeding power to the right power point when turned on. When I turn on and off the Switch_binary1 or Switch_Binary2 i can hear the unit physically click.

Can you take a clear picture from your wiring or draw it ?

Are you sure the neutral wires are ok ?

Usually when you add fibaro switch you have 3 slaves! two of them are switching same power point.

Please try all slave and see what happen.

I replaced the wire to the other Power point and all is well now :D thank you cag014 youve been very helpful
