Dimmer 2 does not respond to turnOn command

Question

Posted (edited)

I added a Dimmer 2 (v3.5) to my HC2 system. The switch appears in my system with ID:111 and operates properly when operated manually. I can control it via HC2 by using the On/Off toggle switch or slider.

However, it does not respond to the following call:

I've installed the latest firmware on both HC2 and the Dimmer switches. I have tried removing and adding it again to HC2.

Hi @janbe,

It should respond to that command... Not sure what is happening; some random thoughts:

- Could it be that it turns on at a very low dimming level?

- Coud there be other bugs in your code? (Maybe you can share the remainder of your code? Although I assume you have tested the code separately?)

    - the dimmer is switched off in HC2 after initiating the turnOn command

    - no bug in the code

I found that dimmers do not respond to turnOn:

they do respond to (where 100 is the power level, a value between 0-100):

Please login or register to see this code.

    Yep that's true

dimmers are on value and switch are on ON or OFF

Weird :) it turnOn works in my setup! It is even suggested as one of the actions in the devices list (on the left in lua editing)

    Almost correct.

    0 = off

1 = lowest possible dim level

99 = highest possible dim level

255 = last remembered value aka "turnOn"

    There is no "100".

Could that be the reason why turnOn did not work? I.e. there is no remembered value (for unknown reasons)?

Last remembered would be between 1 and 99 (not 0). But not all lamps light with a low value. Some of my dimmers have been set to 5 or 10 as a minimum level (see parameters). Still some are really difficult to see in daylight...
