Hello,

I'm looking for the best solution to control my Home Cinema installation. At this day i have

- Philips 2017 Android TV (IR)

- Old Sony amp (IR)

- Shield TV Android (WiFi/Bluetooth)

- TV Box (WiFi)

I tried with Harmony Hub but the system sux. I can make a activities but when i start one it close automatically the previous one :

- i start the TV with activity N°1

- i want to start the Sony Amp with activity N°2

- when i put on the button to activity N°2, he stop the activity N°1 by doing the reverse of activity starting... so he shutdown the TV and after that start activity N°2 and open the Sony Amp.
- when i want to restart the TV i start the activity N°1 again and he shutdown the Amp when he reverse activity n°2

Its a *abuse* snackbite!
Yes i can make one activity with the two devices starting in once but sometimes a command is missing and he do only one of the two. And at this moment u NEED to have an activity with just one action (start TV or start Amp.. the missed one).

So i can't trust Harmony Hub (or i am doing it bad?).

Someone has an alternate solution ? Where i can make a VD or scene with it and with something 100% reliable?

thank you to detail your answer (model of item, etc..)

Thank you for your time!

iTach IP2IR is an option, where you can program all buttons from your remote control and convert each code to a button in a VD

@10der : The broadlink RM Mini3 is compatible with HC2 ? is there an API available on it? how does it work with HC2 plz?

    Posted

broadlink is not Z-wave device, it can't be compatible with HC2 by default... but broadlink use QUIC UDP protocol and you can control in via HC2 VD.

    IMHO

btw. if you asking me what I use? it's a "tough sell"..

ESP8266 (witty clouds $3 / Infrared Emission Module IR Transmitter Module For Arduino $1.5 / Infrared Receiver Module for Arduino - $2)

Do you think we can found a VD already made for the Broadlink?

Me too, I also use iTach IP2IR and it is much easier to connect to HC2 than those Broadlink stuff needing some servers in between which all seems nice for some geeks :-) Also it works perfectly and can be used on any brand TV or other devices that have IR controller.

It took me around 1 hour to learn and change remote codes for new set-top box which replaced the old one ;-)
