Sonos variable

Question

Posted

Hi, I observed recently a couple of times the following :

I have Sonos control linked into HC2 with a variable called x_sonos_object.  When fresh installed everything works fine and I can control my Sonos from my HC2.

I have also some other variables in the variables panels and when I change one of those variables manually it then requires to save those by hitting the save button at the right, then the sonos variable is also changed and I can no longer control my sonos from my HC2.  Simply hitting the save button in the variable panel also creates the same issues.

Anybody an idea how this can be avoided ?

This is a known issue, it cannot be solved, Fibaro has to solve it. I stopped using that solution and I.m now using the sonos http api, much more flexible and robust

simply do not use variables for none numeric values, they are not designed for it. On can use device description property for such things, one can use Sonos VD via scenes with params, lot of solutions here in Forum.

this is not an issue, it has been designed like this and we have to use it properly, that's all

@tinman , ok, not designed for this, those are better words indeed.
Have you got a link to a sonos solution that does work as you say ? I cannot find one...

take any, and change the place where the variable information will be stored, e.g. like that
