Projection screen + Roller Shutter

Sjekke

Recommended Posts

I got my hands on a Projection Screen with motor. The switch (up/down) was lost and so not included. I want to connect this screen to a Roller Shutter.

Will this work?

Anyone experience with this?

Hello Sjekke,

I have a few questions (the link you provided does not contain any info on the projector screen).  Is the motor an AC or a DC powered? if it is AC ( the motor has 4 wires Neutral, Ground and two for powering the motor from both directions up/down) then yes you can control the projector screen via your gateway. If it is a DC motor (on normal occasions 3 wires a ground and 2 live)  you could purchase a fibaro double relay and connect the motor.  A side note, you could also purchase a switch for controlling the projector screen from the roller shutter or double relay module as well.

  • Hi @Axeman

This is what I see. If I take a look at my motors for my Roller Shutters (Chamberlain), I think it's the same wiring.

    1 yellow-green Equipment Grounding Conductor
    2 blue Neutral
3 black Phase Direction of Rotation 1 (UP)
4 brown Phase Direction of Rotation 2 (
    Down)

Yes it will work for both projector screen and the roller shutters.  Do the wiring as described in the manual below (Q1, Q2 are for up/down, wires black and brown) and as i mentioned before you could also wire any switch for controlling a blind/roller shutter etc that you can find at your local electrical supplier.

Indeed but what i am saying is to have both just in case a fibaro roller shutter that is also connected with a switch :)
