Motion sensor behaviour when creating an alarm (arm/disarm)

Can someone explain me how to configure the motion sensor to be a normal motion sensor when it's disarmed, and becomes alarm sensors when its armed?

I have motion sensors set to only be active at night (-200 lux) with parameter 8 and associated it to a dimmer 2 module to turn on a light. This works perfect.

Now I want to create a simple alarm, so I arm the sensor. But the sensor does not detect motion during the daytime(+200 lux) when I armed it. This is necessary for an alarm :)

I assume that if you arm the sensor it discards the day/night parameter and is always active. Or is this way of thinking wrong?
