NESS Alarm Integration High Level with HC2 plugin

Question

Hi I am trying to get my existing hard wired alarm system to integrate with the HC2 not having a great deal of luck at the moment.

My alarm system is a NESS D8X

I have tried to set it up using a binary sensor so that I can get a notification of a alarm and also arm and disarm the system. At this current point in time all I can manage to get out of the binary sensor is "Arm Status" & "Alarm Triggered" not a bad start but I just need that extra feature to be able to arm or disarm the system.

Now I have been told that I can get it integrated using a high level interface I need an ethernet module for the alarm (easy to source aprox $130AUD) and then pay a company for a plugin that they have developed for the HC2. The issue I have with this is this the company would like $300+ for the plugin.

I have noticed on the Fibaro market place that there are a number of different alarm plugins free of charge. DSC, EnvisaLink, Satel Alarm etc. What I would like to know is there one of them that might be suited to my alarm system? or is there someway to develop one easily? I honestly don't need it to be that great I just want it to be able to tell me when the alarm has been triggered, if it is armed or disarmed and be able to arm and disarm it.

Cheers

Hey @puma

How did you end up going with this? I’m looking at getting my HC2 integrated with my alarm but I’ve got the older Ness D8 so I’ll be replacing it anyway. Wondering whether I should go the Ness D8x and add a binary sensor (like what you’ve done) or go another brand altogether.

Not too fussed about un/arming it remotely (though that would be cool) - the main functionality I’d be chasing is if it breached while armed then to trigger a scene.

I’m also in Aus (Perth) so could look at splitting costs too?

Thanks,

Scott
