Netatmo Thermostat - Plugin sucks!

Question

Posted

Hi there,

after a bit of research for a thermostat, i decided to buy and instal a NETATMO Thermostat, nice design, a bit of complicated app but does his job in the end.

Obviously, the first thing i did after installing the thermostat was to connect it with my HC2, through the official plugin...but honestly, the plugin it's a shame...only a poor "virtual device" with no possibilities to use the thermostat as a temperature sensor! Fibaro, you think it's a good idea to not retrieve the room's temperature from the thermostat but force me to use another separate sensor?? this makes no sense....

(moreover, the plugin it's not even showing any data on it...)

Actually it does for me, but for another types of thermostats. In case of Netatmo, i would be glad for temperature from thermostat, since it is battery device. But in case of in-wall buld Thermostats, such as Heatit i would rather use external sensor (Z-Wave one or physically connected to sensor), because electronic heat itself and it heat temperature sensor, so you get inaccurate teperature reading.

Honestly, i did not even knew there is Netatmo thermostat integrated. But i think Netatmo plugin will get some overhoul eventually. But IDK when it will receive it.

Jakub.

    great work!

But i'm trying to connect the thermostat, not the weather station (I will get it in the near feature maybe).

A nice feature would be to integrate it as a native temperature sensor
