Oudoor motion sensor

Question

Posted

Anyone know about an outdoor motion sensor that can be used with a HC2 or HCL

I need it to work in a scene to trigger a camera to take a photo and mail and also trigger a relay to turn on light.

The Fibaro motion sensor could maybe work as it, probably, could be placed a bit protected but an outdoor sensor would be best.

As I know it’s a bad idea, you will get too much false-positive alarms from this sensor: wind, cats, rains, mosquitoes

but if you want to know ok, for example

In the US market there is available HomeSeer HS-FLS100+ Z-Wave Plus Floodlight Sensor for the outdoor use for the motion, luminosity, and light control.

I use it, and in fact, during the heavy rain, occurred false motion detection. Outdoor environment is not easy, a bird can fly in the front of the sensor and activate it.

BTW, even on other markets this product is not available, some outdoor motion detector can be used with its output connected to the z-wave module input.

I think price and easy installation wise it’s better to take a look at the Steinel sensor if you don’t have nothing yet installed. It’s around 80€ ...

    The Steinel also measures Flux.

The Steinel sensors looks very potent.

Will se if they are available in Thailand with the right frequencies.

    Thank's
