Heat controller doesn´t regulate radiator (solved)

Question

Posted (edited)

Just installed my first heat controller (with external temp sensor).

The heat controller is currently running without a hub/gateway, since I wanted to test it before investing too much money into this.

Installing the heat controller was no problem (Danfoss RA-N valve) and pairing the external sensor also went well.

However, even if I set the controller to closed (white ring) the radiator stays fully open. I´ve run calibration several times (I can hear the motor running), but this has no effect.

The strange thing is that the heat controller doesn´t seem to be firmly attached to the valve. If i pull the heat controller, it moves a couple of millimeters outwards. Also, the heat controller isn´t perfectly horizontal - it points a bit downwards, as shown in the picture. I would believe that if the heat controller isn´t firmly attached to the valve (such as the old Danfoss mechanical thermostat was) it won´t be able to adjust the valve. Is it supposed to be like this? I can´t see that I have done anything wrong when mounting the heat controller.

Edit: If I pull the heat controller outwards, I can rotate the entire thing. According to the manual, this shouldn´t be possible, so apparently the adapter isn´t correctly mounted. However, I can´t see how I can mount it differently.

Edit: Solved. Turned out I hadn´t mounted the adapter ring properly. I had to use quite a bit of force to get it in place.
