Hi Guys
I hope you are all doing well!
So, I have recently been thinking it would be nice to have some sort of notification board downstairs. I’m thinking possibly the kitchen or in the hall (near to the server cupboard) I want to display messages, weather, calendar info, home status potentially the cctv feed which overlooks the front of the house.
I have been looking at a few things which could be implemented, it seems the best choice would be to put my pi to work. So far the simplest solution would be to have a localiy hosted webpage which links to the data which I want to display.
I could go and buy an LED tv and mount it in a picture frame and hang it on the wall, which would be great in principle. But I cant decide if I want the unit to just be displaying items, and perhaps cycle through things. Or have a touch screen interface, which would have to be considerably smaller.
Truth be told, I like the idea of a touch screen to gain further information, in the same breath, if all the information I need is being displayed then why would I need to touch a screen?
Has anyone else got anything set up in terms of a notice board?
If so, what would you say the pros and cons are of your setup?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
