RGBW as input sensor makes strange things...

calza

Question

Hi there,

i've just got a new front door with motorized lock, not zwave but with digital outputs and clean contacts for opening and closing.

For opening and closing i'm using a double relay (12v dc in) and it works great.

BUT...for reading the digital outputs i've tried to connect a rgbw controller with 4 outputs connected to the 4 IN of the rgbw controller, but i'm finding some strange happenings:

1- the readings are always between 0-10v even if they should stay between 0-5v! and the should be NO...but they're normally at 10v

2- when the outputs are changing voltage (like opening the door), there are some strange happenings in the whole house, lights turning on randomly and blind going up and down...does it make sense for you??

The digital output are give to be "open collector" type, TTL compatible (5v dc) and:

IO max absorbed <= 20 mAdc

VO max at opened collector <= 6 V dc

VO max saturation <= 0,8 V dc

Any ideas??

I'm really bad with basic electronics..

  • Thanks for attaching this post!

    Qbino I don't want it, it has only one input per module, and Id like to read 3 or 4 inputs...

    Fibaro smart implant...as I can see it will be just like the ubs, isn't it?
