Hi All,

I placed a Dimmer 2 behind a already exciting Motion sensor (internal; corridor first floor). Now the motion sensor is not "motioning" anymore. He is not responding on any movement. The dimmer 2 is working and the lights can be dimmed. What did I do wrong? How do I get the sensor in the lead?

Please find my scheme attached (there's no manual switch).

I will try to avoid using the Fibaro switch as that the lights can not be dimmed.

I understand the option of a fibaro motion sensor, my best option is the existing sensor.

Goal;

1.Lights on when there is motion in specified time frame (at night lights will not go on if there is motion)

2. Dim the lights

Thanks!

Could you post a bit more about the motion sensor (Specifications)?

To my knowledge, a traditional motion sensor as soon as senses  motion will transmit power to the lights and after a specific time cut off that power.

So after sensing motion the motion sensor will send 240VAC to the dimmer and then (after specific time from that depends of the motion sensor) cut off that power (to the S1 Terminal).

Try changing the parameters to toggle switch with memory just in case this solves your problem.

Also take a look at the manual as you can see below the S2 terminal does nothing unless the parameter 22 is changed.

P.S. You could save yourself from a lot of trouble if you replaced that motion sensor with a z-wave one in order to achieve dimming the lights, but you could use this motion to turn on and off the lights but not dim them.

    Hi Axeman,

    Thanks for the swift reply.

Attached you find the specifics of the motion sensor.

Alinea 1 is indeed how it should work either with or without dimmer2.

I searched how to change parameters. I changed 22,1,1. This didn't result, but I am asking myself if I understand how to program this right.

Is there any guide or FAQ about this?

    How to proceed?

    Thanks!

    Jorrit
