Button broken.

Question

Hi!

First post here on the forum since today is my first day with any Fibaro products! :)

Among the units I bought are two used FGSD-002 smoke sensors. One seems fine, but on the other one the button is half broken. I can with difficulty operate the button but the distinct click sensation is not there. Does anyone know if it's possible to take the sensor apart so I can see if it's possible to fix the button?

Cheers from Sweden!

/Fred

  • I'll answer my question myself...

There is no problem at all to take the sensor apart. There are four plastic hooks (visible when the back cover is removed) that need to be pushed aside which can be done with a couple of narrow flathead screwdrivers or similar. The metal screen will spring out when the two parts are divided so keep your hand on it. Once the cover is removed, the main board can be carefully taken off the bottom part. The two boards are connected by a four pin connector, so you have to lift the main board straight up...carefully!!

Assembly is reverse from disassembly. The metal screen is a little fiddly, but if you install the top cover almost all the way down you can place the screen and line it up with it's grooves before clicking the top cover firmly in place.

    Hope this helps somebody!
