Home Alarm System 12v input

Question

Posted

Hi,

I have a home alarm system which I would like to integrate into my Z-Wave system. Thinking about using the Fibaro Universal Binary Sensory to receive input when the home alarm system has been triggered.

The home alarm system is a Euro Mini and the main PCB has 12v for power so I can power the Universal Binary Sensor from the main board. I understand the inputs IN1 and IN2 of the universal are for drives which are NO (normally open) and then move to GND (Ov) when closed. My alarm system output is usually 0v and 12v when triggered. How can I connect this to the Fibaro without too much electronics in-between.

Detail of the Home alarm system and PCB can be found here:

Any help would be appreciated.

I would use the output to trigger a 12v relay wired to the binary sensor, they aren’t expensive at all, probably around $5.

I have a similar setup and it works fine.
