Conventional Alarm system integration

Hey guys,

 

I'm new here so I'm really nube on this stuff

 

I've an conventional alarm system and I want to integrate the alarme with HC2. However, I do not want to control the alarm with HC2, I just want to have some information from it, such as, knowing if the alarm is armed or not (just the info) in order to set scenes with that information. What kind of sensor do I need to install? My alarm vendor told me that he can send a signal when the alarm is armed (or unarmed). Can anybody help me?

Hi tmf,

A fibaro binary sensor is what you need.

You can power it from your alarm panel and provided the alarm installer can trigger outputs based on armed/ disarmed status, you will be up and running. The wiring diagram is supplied with the sensor and it’s pretty straightforward to install.

Thats exactly what I’m doing at home with my elk m1.

If I want to trigger the alarm (like panic scenario), i need to use a relay, right?

Hi mate,

sorry for the delay.

yes, you will need dry contact relays from your alarm.

Grab yourself a binary sensor then get back to me if you are having trouble.

Ok. My house is under construction yet... I'm just collecting as much information as I can to do the right choices then.

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I came across this while searching how to integrate Fibaro with an M1.  I have the binary sensor and wiring diagrams, but I'm confused as to how this does anything more than give feedback from a single PIR.  Do you happen to have a wiring diagram of your M1 setup?  Prior to changing to Fibaro, I ran my Z Wave through a Vera controller.  Vera for many years had excelent M1 integration via an app, but the app never got updated and no longer works with the latest Vera firmware.  This is one of the main reasons I've changed to Fibaro, but the M1 connection is confusing the hell out of me.

Hi mate,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Instead of wiring thr sensor to a pir, your better off using an output from your alarm panel.

When alarm armed is closes the output and opens it when disarmed.

You can use the armed /disarmed status to run a couple of scenes.

Definitelly you should use and outup from your alarm panel. I am using this solution for different brands like Satel or Jablotron..

They all work.
