How to know if virtual device is on or off

Question

Posted

Hello! I couldnt select virtual devices to submit the question but this area was allowed.

I have virtual devices for tvs, receivers, set-up-boxes and air-conditioners. So, is there a way to have an icon showing if the device is on?

On many ocasions I got home and my receiver was on, wife didnt turn it of.

Sorry about posting it on the wrong place.

I have made different globals and the check if a device is on or off and in the loop off the virtual device i have a code that checks the global. If global heater is on icon 1020 an heater off icon 1019

local ID= fibaro:getSelfId()
local icon = fibaro:getGlobal("heather")

if     icon == "on"  then fibaro:call(ID, "setProperty", "currentIcon", "1020")
elseif icon == "off" then fibaro:call(ID, "setProperty", "currentIcon", "1019")
  end
