almost all devices unconfigured

Question

Posted

Today my hc2 freezed, i was on the road and i couldn't use the app to reboot it.

So the wife had bad luck.. so the moment i came home i push the off button on the back of the hc2 and when it shutdown, pushed it again to boot it up

but

most off the lights still won't work, no light on the toilet etc etc.

so i checked the webinterface, almost all my devices were unconfigured, so i had to reload an old backup.

what is the reason this happens? why all devices unconfigured??

same problem here two weeks ago. If you do not have an actual backup restore it. nothing else will help.

@Basti i really want to know why this happen, there must be a reason for this.

If this is a feature that will be the standard then have to reconsider the hc2.

i had a backup from a couple of weeks ago, if you dan't have that, you can rebuild everything

This is not unusual. However, Fibaro will not comment on it, or even recognise it as a bug. Hence, you will never know if and when they are going to fix it.

It is a new feature started in 4.5xx.

You should never use the fibaro for switching devices, if you cannot also control them by hand.

Even then you may notice that devices are reset, which can be very dangerous with heating, alarms, animalcare like aquariums, devices switching to off if you don't expect it.

Also, you will probably notice that associations are gone too,

Best way is to let Fibaro helpdesk resolve it. Please let us know how that worked out for you! See my other posts regarding this update.

Same problem happened many times on many servers for different customers. Only restore previous backup helps.

This is not a new problem for me.

Issue occured with the "stabel" version (4.520). Was gone on my HC2 with the last beta version (4.521 Beta). It is still gone on my HC2 with 4.530

@akatar , the "not configured" issue is still being worked on. We are guessing that it has to do with reloading the whole data and that sometimes there is an issue in this process. At the moment, we have reports that we still work on and we are trying to find the main cause of it.

Fortunately, restoring backup fixes the issue.

Hi, we replaced server with new one after such problem. Could you tell me.
    1) This related to hardware.

    2) Or this related to soft problem and server replacement will not help?

    @Roman @T.Konopka

the post from t.konopka was clear, it is a software problem and they know it exists but there is no sollution yet.

Yes, this is 99% software issue as it does not happen to a particular group of gateways (let's say they were produced around the same time). It happens randomly and there is not specific link between cases.
