Fibaro home center 2 - encountered a couple of unexpected behaviors

Hello

i am using the Fibaro home center 2 and have encountered a couple of unexpected behaviors, hope one of you could clear things up

in any case thank you in advance

 

1) unable to update, currently fibaro is stuck in version 4.056 (came from factory ) in the configuration tab there is no update option

i have tried clearing the cache as was suggested in the forums but it did'nt matter

2) i've started working with fibaro roller shutter 3, when i added the device ( 3 quick clicks) instead of adding just one it added 3 devices

3) i've tried using the up and down buttons to roll up and down the shutter only the down button works the up button is not reacting however when i touch the continuous line it rools up the shutter, i tried configure the device parameters and even ran the parameter 150 with 2, after it did an auto calibration it didnt change a thing:-(

 

could you please help understand how to fix this

Hi @amit_fibaro , and welcome to Fibaro community!

 

1. Older versions of firmware need some time to show available updates in Configuration menu. First you should be offered to upgrade to 4.180 and then to the latest firmware.
2. Roller shutter 3 support is added with HC2 firmware 4.530 so if it doesn't work properly on 4.056 that is expected. No matter on what firmware all devices when added to the system have one master device that is usually hidden and one or more slave devices added which is expected.

Is there a way to force the hc2 to do an update?

It is already plugged for 3 days and still nothing in the configuration tab

I don't remember if there is any way to force update on 4.056, but usually available update should appear on Configuration panel if HC2 is connected to internet and 10-30 minutes after reboot.

It is connected to my laptop which is connected to my wifi I also configured my ipv4 to allow connection to the hc2 ip/gateway

But I still have wifi connection and I can go to sites

Should I do something else?

Well, do you have 3 blue LED's on the front of HC2 from the right side on? Can you connect HC2 directly to the LAN port on your router?

Yes I do have 3 blue (power, network and globe icon) light from the right

I can try connecting it to the router and will update

Hello

 So I've connected the hc2 to the router and found it through the mobile upit asked me to update to version 4.180 after the update it did not ask me to update to other more advanced versions not sure why, any reason?

Hi @amit_fibaro,

 

maybe it shows only after you reboot your HC2.

My 2 cents: Make a manual backup before upgrading in case of some disaster.

Tried a plain restart and even connecting back to NY PC did a restart and reconnected to router

Still no update is available
