Dear All,

Maybe someone has a good idea of how to extend the zwave capabilty to a gate which is located 170meters awat from home. I do not have the possibility to set fibaro switching at intermediary location to extend the zwave. Maybe there is a device they can be wired in that extends the zwave ?

Thank for all the help.

Best Regards
Adrian

Hello, I had the same issue, with  much less distance but the problem remain the same. If you have the possibility to have an ethernet cable between your home and the location, then you can had a HC lite (or HC2 if you wish) and run it as a slave machine, then you can add you devices in this second box and see it in your main, and do wathever you want/need. That what I did to handle the situation.

Maybe find out if you can bring the device closer to HC, I mean there is no need to have the device physically at the gate.

Assuming the gate gets current from the house and has a dedicated power line ofcourse. Or you could make one.

Thank you all for the reply. The thing is that i would like to use the zwave keyfob from Fibaro to open the gate etc. I do have a normal frequency remotes but i would like to replace them. It would make sense if the fibaro intercome can brodcast zwave itself, but i do not think it has the capability to do so.

You can try and get a powerful antenna for you HC2 and put it outside next to the house so it covers the house and the gate. Or if you have any device near the gate you can do the mesh configuration without needing the hc2 to be close. I have my HC2 in a server rack in the basement and by configuring the mesh network I can access the node that is on the gate outside without a problem because all the powered fibaro sensors communicate with each other.
