Creating a group of roller shutters 3

Question

Posted

Hi,

I've been trying to figure out how to run all the rollershutters on a floor with one input.

When the command is given I want all the rollershutters in the rooms on the 1st floor to close or open or keep said position, but I cannot find how to do this.

There are different rooms with roller shutters and somehow these need to act as one.

I not even sure if this is even possible to program without using a physical trigger like a button.

Anybody have any ideas?

    I've had some good help from the local support, thnx Randy, and now I should be able to use the association function or create a virtual device linked to all rs3.

    The virtual device seems to be the best fit so I will give that a try first.

    Hi @Laurens ,

    I don't have roller shutter 3, but I do have roller shutter 2 and if I open any of them then on Advanced tab there is this option:

    Please login or register to see this spoiler.

    All roller shutters are shown grouped by rooms. To group them just click on each one once to make them unshaded. To finalize grouping you need to click on save button on vertical ribbon on the right side of the web interface page.

    This option is introduced with latest HC firmware version 4.540 so make sure that you have updated your HC2 to the latest firmware.

    @Sankotronic

    Thanks for the help, I will check out what firmware version I have

    So this option is not the same as the association function?

    And when the different rollershutters are out of sync position wise, will that be a problem?

    @Laurens ,

    Grouping and adding association is completely different and have nothing in common.

    When you group several roller shutters then they will show in web GUI interface and in mobile app as one roller shutter and will act as one. So when you give command to open to 80% then all roller shutters in group will open to 80%. If you move one of the shutters with the wall switch it will be closed or opened more than the others, but as soon as HC2 sends command to the group to move to certain position all shutters will go to that new position regardless of their previous position so they will synchronize.

    With association is a bit different situation as far as I can guess because associations I didn't test and I don't use device association at all in my house setup because I don't see any benefit of that. My house is setup in the way that if HC2 dies then we still have everything operational except that has to be manually operated as we did before installation of HC2 and HA.
