HC2 with HCL as remote Gateway - Remote devices not listed

Question

Posted

Hi All,

First post. Thank you in advance. I'm having trouble.

I have a main HC2 as a master.

Just added a HCL in a remote building over LAN to control devices too distant for main network.

Added remote gateway on HC2 Configuration page, and opted to synchronize.

Added a device (smart implant), to HCL. It added fine.

The problem is that I can't see the new device on the HC2, and I'd like to perform scripting, etc on the HC2 to control the new devices on the HCL.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Yes, a few times, but no good.

@SDB : did you solve your problem?

I'm in the same situation as you with a Smart Implant added on a HCL as a slave gateway.

I managed to import it to the my HC2.

BUT it causes crashes of the main HC2 then the input is activated regularly.

Hi - Any progress on this issue?

I've also used a smart implant on my HCL, and the master and slave devices show up on my HC2 via the gateway setup.

But no events (CentralScene) are passed through, and the outputs don't mirror the same on the HC2.

Events and outputs are fine on the HCL (using block scenes to test CentralScene events)

I've synchronised many times. Other devices work fine - just the Smart Implant playing up.

    Any clues?

Hi! Sorry, I missed these response. I'd given up on it for a while, and just looking at it again today.

I now have it working, after doing the following (I'm not sure which of these fixed it, sorry).

    1) Updated both to latest firmware version (4.543 Beta) - (I think they were on different versions, and suspected this as the problem)

    2) I reconfigured the smart implant attached to the HCL to include the new template (the template was not applied before, so this is a good candidate also)

    3) on the HC2, went to Configuration > Gateway Connections and against the slave HCL pressed Import, then Advanced, and selected the smart implant, its two switched and its temp sensor.

    4) Pressed Syncronise.

They now appear in the HC2's devices list with a Dark Yellow border around them (presumably to signify they are shared from another HC).

    I hope this helps someone.

    Thanks for the update @SDB.

Now that you have the smart implant showing up on your HC2, is your scripting working?

My issue was that while I could get the Smart Implant to show up (with yellow border) like you have, if doesn't mirror the actions that show up on the it's host controller (the HCL).

If you have got it working with scripts, then that's a breakthrough, and my Fibaro system gets to live another day!

My only difference from your setup is that I have the master HC2 gateway running 4.540 and not the beta (the HCL is running the beta).

    thanks

If I have the two web interfaces (one for each HC) open next to each other, activating the smart implant from either web interface (or from the attached physical switch) causes both interfaces to update at the same time.

I haven't tried a script on it yet, but I will do eventually. If it will answer something for you let me know and I'll run a simple script through it - but if you want to let me know a specific script to run to test whatever you'd like to test, send it over.
