Question

Hi guys,

I have a 433 MHz security system in time to be replaced by Fibaro.

Alarm is connected by a binary contact imported to HC2 works well.

Step by step I want to switch over and I am doubting what to do with the next small problem.

I want to connect the alarm signalization all 6Volt on the HC2, they are wired but the wires are in the utility room.

Two options I guess

- wallplug or relais and connect adapters for sound and signal lights >>>> I assume this is a tad slower than the next option

-smart connect to switch the 6 Volt on or off

What is the difference in electrical way of speaking?

Please advice

Hello @Sjakie,

I´m sorry, but I dont understand what do you want to do with 6V...
Please, can you describe me it more clearly?
Thank you.

sirene and flashlight are 6 Volt

Are these control signals to turn on alarm siren and flash a dedicated light?
How many wires are there, 2 wires for each? Do you know what is the meaning of each wire, e.g. can you post a table / diagram from the alarm system datasheet?
    I'm trying to understand whether
     1. actual 6 VDC power has to be applied and the siren / lights are sinking current through these wires, in this case you need to understand the power requirements / max current draw

    or
    2. it's just a control signal and might be switched between GND (on) and high impedance (disconnect = off).

You can use Fibaro binary sensor with 2 outputs for the 0 potential switching case (#2)

Any smart relay switch will do both options if connected properly.

The cheapest and most controllable option that I use myself is esp8266 wifi module (Lolin / Wemos D1 mini pro or similar) + dual / quad relay board, but you'll have to program it yourself + create a Fibaro scene or VD that issues http API calls to this device.

    Hi thanks for the answer.

They both have there own adapter.

I think to go for the relay.

    thanks for the support
