Thermostats to integrate with HC2

Question

Posted

Hi

I'm planning a major renovation of an old house and planning to use Fibaro Z wave devices with HC2.

The house will be part new construction and part 160 year old listed building. I will have a combination of central heating with radiators, wet underfloor heating fed from the central heating boiler and  electric underfloor heating. The Fibaro TRVs appeal to me to allow local control  but I'm struggling to fine a system that can control the underfloor systems and also interface with HC2.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi Ro-76

The central heating system can be controlled in various ways. You could use thermostats from Fibaro and Danfoss to control the heat. I guess the wet underfloor heating system could use the same as there must be a thermostat somewhere in your system.

The electrical system could be controlled by installing a heat sensor - could be the Fibaro eye (and get even more data from the sensor) - in combination with a socket switch. Set the current system to maximum heat and make a LUA program that combine the heat sensor with the socket switch. I have a similar system in my shed (and an electrical owen). I could mail you the program.

Please ask for further help, if you need it.
