3 pcs dimmers connected to common 1 + 1 + 1 switch

RobertL

Question

Hi

3 pcs dimmers connected to common 1 + 1 + 1 switch ( See pic )
Is this possible ? Will it work?

There are 3 individual push buttons in this switch, but input (Sx) is common

Or is Sx on each dimmer an isolated circuit ?

I believe this will cause you problems.

Even using live to feed the switch instead of sx causes problems on one dimmer.

Can you not just switch one dimmer then control the other thru association or scene activation?

There are 3 different light zones to be controlled individually.

@RobertL, are those lighting zones on one Lighting circuit? If yes, then i think it should not be a problem. In my (theoreticall only) understanding SX grabs something from N and by pushing button of switch it creates some sort of pulse. That is why i do not advice connecting multiple light circuits that way. Also for my term ligt circuit, it begins and ends in breaker box.

Alternatively, you could use one SX, to power up switch and on other make connection from SX to N, but again they have to be on one lighting circuit. There could be potential problem on miltiple lighting circuit and one switch (Especially with one Input).

Hei, it will work. See below connections ref: manual dimmer single switch - just repeat connections as you have indicated in drawing

Sx terminal will not cause problem as long all dimmers are on the same circuit(fuse).

Recommend using single wires out from all dimmers.

Where are the dimmers placed ? Dont put them together behind a 3 way switch unless you have plenty of room.

@jakub.jezek These are 3 different lamps, but they are all powered from the same circuit together with the dimmers..

Then you should have no problem.
