[Question] Change VD name by button press

Question

Posted

Greetings,

I try to change the name of VD by pressing a button of same VD if new name is configured.

It works OK changing the VD name but after that, it did not perform any output (fibaro:debug) of change was performed on debug window. it seems a bit strange. Can someone confirm this ?

Please login or register to see this code.

If you do an api.put for a virtualDevice you also kill the running (button) handler (or main loop). If you do an api.put for a scene you kill all running instances of that scene.

Why they have to do it when changing a property I don't know. I can understand the need when the lua code of VDs or scenes are updated.
