FGFS-101 pairing incorrectly with SmartThings hub.

vandacca

Question

I've successfully paired a Fibaro flood sensor with my SmartThings hub and decided to get a 2nd one.  With this 2nd one, when it pairs it is completely different in the iPhone app.  It seems to be registered as an on/off switch and not as a flood sensor.  It also has a dimmer ability, which does absolutely nothing.

I've removed it from my hub numerous times and reset the unit, but every time I connect it, it always comes up as a dimmer switch rather than a flood sensor.  When connecting to SmartThings, I even go the Marketplace, select the Fibaro Flood Sensor and connect from that screen.  Nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else seen this issue or have any ideas of how to make this work?

I've attached a screenshot.  "Basement.Flood.Panel" is the original and working Flood Sensor.  "Basement.Flood.South" is the new one I'm trying to setup.

Thanks.

  • I finally resolved this issue with a little help from Fibaro Support.  Turns out that you can change the Device Handler assigned to SmartThings hubs after it's been incorrectly assigned.

Instructions are provided at this URL:

Please login or register to see this link.

Go to the bottom "Troubleshooting" section and see step #4 for the solution.

1.)  Go to "My Devices" SmartThings URL:

Please login or register to see this link.

2.)  Find your Device and click the name link

3.)  Scroll to the bottom and click "Edit"

4.)  Change the "Type" to "Fibaro Flood Sensor ZW5"

    5.)  Click "Save"

It may take a few minutes to update in the app.  You can try to completely quit the app and reload it to speed things up.  This solve the issue for me.
