Hi,

I want to expand and improve my HA and I think it would be nice to share ideas and must-haves of products, scenes, VD’s and other things that are not yet known on the forum.?

This way everyone can get new ideas and we all learn something from each other's system.  Share your favorite must-haves for HA below.

Or share a complete screenshot of your whole Fibaro system layout (web UI) with all the modules, appliances, VD’s etc etc.

If you share something that is created/developed by someone else don’t forget to mention the developer for the credits?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I'm using HC2, Dimmers, Switches, Motion Sensors, D/W sensors, Wall Plug, Smoke Sensors of FIBARO.

I've some other IP "smart products", see below:

  • Netatmo Presence - integrated with FIBARO thanks to

Please login or register to see this link.

    integration @nicobode
  • Neato Botvac - not integrated with FIBARO - start on his own scheme. I don't know why I should connect this anyway.
  • Philips Hue - Thanks to integration of @Sankotronic
  • Logitech Harmony - By plugin FIBARO
  • Bosch Coffee machine (HomeConnect) - not integrated with FIBARO
  • Bosch Kitchen extractor hood (Home Connect) - not integrated with FIBARO
  • Sonos - Integration used of @Krikroff

Plans:

I'm considering a Smart Implant with an RFID reader to use it as security system, I will also need a siren and thinking of the new Siren 6 of Aeotec

I'm considering a smart doorbell, but most of the people come through the backdoor.

I want to use Heatit Z-TRM2fx with my underfloor heating, but i'm not really familiar in heating systems

I want to integrate my ventilation system

Thinking about that also but I'm not that handy to incorporate a Smart Implant to a RFID reader?, need to check that first.

I'm getting my Siren 6 with doorbell of Aeotec tomorrow, right timing, the doorbell became defective last week so why not ordering a Z-Wave doorbell with sirene?

    My own must have's:
    1. The light that changes temperature depending of the day time. Most of the day lights are set to about 6000K and at 8pm they start to slowly change color and at 10pm they are about 4500K (I can't remember the actual values, but it's something around this) - I could use the sunset/sunrise time, but I don't like it. (LEDs with RGBW module)

    2. The foot lights that light up at sunset. That lights are only in kitchen and in hall - I need to rewrite it to check the real light level, because it's not doing the job when the rollers are down or the weather is bad

    3. The night time set of the lights. When I wake in the night and need to go to toilet or kitchen, the lights are quite dim.

    4. Rollers running up and down depending of the temperature inside and outside... - it's more complicated, but it's useful while i have no AC :/

    5. temperature control in my fridge where my home made beer ferments :-)

    And more will come...

My must have is a basic how to setup a smart way of door contacts for patios/balcony. I recommend to place on the external side of the balcony/patio door a motion sensor. When motion sensor detect motion and balcony door is closed, contact of that door will arm for X seconds. if motion sensor is tampered, door contact will stay permanent on arm status.

This can save you, even you forget to enable alarm all the day. In fact this is a nice way to force perimeter alarm.

This is not recommended scenario for front door.

Front door may have another scenario: In case front door of house is limited access from road, if detects motion more that X minutes, to turn on siren. burglars will hear siren before they managed to get inside.

in conclusion: it is always recommend to place a door contact with a motion sensor in the "outside" area. Door contacts is the last sensor between you are bad guys.

Actually it's not that hard, you can check this

Please login or register to see this link.

. There is a manual about this keypad with the Universal Binary Sensor. But with the smart implant installation is almost the same.

I bought a simple RFID reader on AliExpress (as the one mentioned above is also from AliExpress), will post some photos on the forum.

What will be harder is the scene configuration, so turning on/off alarm with the APP and RFID reader must work smoothly together.

Nice! I wonder if all settings will work as it has more than 30 tones. Can you let me know?

I'm returning it immediately only for one reason. The chime it way too loud, it really hurts my ears with a few meters distance, my dog doesn't know what happens is scared and is hiding quickly. With little kids the chime is too loud when they are in bed, even if the chime isn't placed in the hallway.

After I added the doorbell/chime I get 9 devices in my HC2 and no templates. But in the manual a pages full of parameters, not one for adjusting the sound level of the chime.

I knew that the chime needed power trough a wall supply, the built in battery only last 4 hours with using it. On the images the cable of the power adapter is white, the power adapter with cable it black and not easy to hide on white walls.

So I need to look further for a doorbell that meets my requirements.

Hmm, I see you can not change the volume. That's a pity, the old Gen5 had 3 volume settings, maybe that one is better for you?

I was waiting especially for the new siren.

About your doorbell - you can use the new DWS7 from aeotec, it has an input to connect something like your doorbell! It's like the old FIBARO D/W sensor. Combine it with a siren Gen5 and you have the same solution!

    @pnutp0wer There should be a volume slider/button

What screenshot is this? This isn’t from the Sirene/Doorbell 6, right?

And if it is, where do I find this?

This is a doorbell 6, only added in homeseer.

I show this so you can see there SHOULD be a volume slider, of fibaro has to create better support for this device

Yes Fibaro need to support 3rd party products better, but they don't?. Users are sending templates to Fibaro so they can add them but they don't.

It's weird that you can see this in Homeseer. In the manual of the Doorbell 6 volume control isn't mentioned

Thnx. It looks like that on the Aeotec support page is an older version of the manual. On the support page is version 6 and you provided version 8.

Now need to find out how to use this parameter.

    Thank you

I also have an Aeotec doorbell 6. When implemented in Fibaro Hc2 i only get 9 boxes. The sound is very hard to hard.

When i read the specifications i see that via the parameters the sound volume can be set, I have don that but the sound volume is not changing.

Please can anyone help how to play with the parameters to configure the doorbell6

Fibaro please can you implement a proper template for this device
