How to show physical presses of a switch in event history?

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a way to view the physical presses of a light switch in the event history panel.

I have installed and programmed a basic set up in my dad's house, just starting with his bathroom. Very simple, just the main overhead lights and an LED strip around his mirror. I have them set up so that they activate on motion and turn off after the motion sensor is "safe" for 5 minutes. I've set up different time periods (i.e Morning, Evening, Night) so that only the low light LED strip comes on during the night, not the main bright lights.

Now he likes to play around and test this by walking in & out, flicking the wall switches on & off & on, walking in & out again etc... Constantly.

He regularly tells me that something isn't working correctly but when i try to follow the event history to check, i can't tell if/when the lights are actually functioning incorrectly or if he's just been pushing the switch. I can see when the lights turn on/off, i can see when the motion sensor is breached/safe, i can then ascertain whether the scenes i have created are working correctly. What I can't see is if the wall switch has been pushed.

I can see some irregularities when lights should've turned on/off but haven't, or when they should not have turned on/off but have. I just can't tell if it's an error in the scene, an error in general, or dad's been pushing buttons.

The lights are wired into a Double Switch 2.

The LED strip is wired into a Relay Switch.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR; Can I somehow see when a wall switch is pressed in the Event History panel.

Unfortunately ( as far as I know) there is no way to distinguish between physical and SW state change in history panel.

Only way to do it, is to write some piece of code to track the changes, which could be displayed on debug messages window of the scene.

I see. Well that's unfortunate but at least I know what I'm working with. Thanks for your reply.
