403 Access denied when trying to run a scene

Question

Posted

We had a power failure earlier today. After the power was restored I noticed that some of my scenes fail to run. If I try to run any of my scenes manually or disable ones that autorun I get the error: 403 Access Denied. I get the same error if I try to create a new scene.

I've cleared the browser cache, there are no alarms and I'm logged in as super user. My HC2 version = 4.550.

Any ideas what the problem might be and how to fix it?

I managed to get my HC2 functional again by restoring an older backup. Fortunately I made minor changes after this backup and I therefore didn't really "loose" much.?

I don't know what caused the issue, but I'm glad that my scenes on my HC2 is functional again.

After power outage and when HC2 was powered down it is good practice to close all Home Center connections (sessions) opened in browser on computer. As soon as HC2 is back online it is better to restart new connection (session) with HC. There is possibility that HC for some reason registered several faulty attempts for connection from PC browser and then will refuse any other communication with browser giving this 403 error.

Next time when 403 happens, try first to kill all sessions and even browser itself and then restart new connection. You might get refused to login for some time from same browser but at least will know what is going on and definitely avoid making backup restore or even worst recovery.
